Atkins Library has published a new book, Shaping S-Curves: Choreographic Process in Odissi.
Shaping S-Curves theorizes choreographic practices in Odissi, an eastern Indian traditional art form. With sections on theory alongside case studies, Shaping S-Curves adopts a practice-based research methodology, exploring choreographic principles and techniques, ranging from traditional to contemporary perspectives. Shaping S-Curves is written by Kaustavi Sarkar, Associate Professor of Dance. The book is available open access as an ebook, and paperback copies can be purchased through UNC Press.
